About Us
Founded in 2018 by native New Yorker Bernice Rubin, Teddy and Doll Take Tea is a playful and timeless clothing brand for curious children ages one to five years old. Every piece in the collection is one of a kind and made to last for generations to come.
When I was a child
I had lots of collections. As the collections grew they began to overlap and define my interests. I realized I loved women's home keeping tools, fabric, notions and anything vintage. Foraging, making, studying, traveling and meeting other makers helped my ideas grow as my collections grew.
50 years in the making
I had more fabric than a lot of the stores I was shopping in. Vintage and new, all of it was limited yardage waiting to be reborn. This was the spark that ignited the idea for Teddy and Doll Take Tea.
Full of surprise & delight
Our curated collection started with handmade dolls and has grown to include bright and comfortable handmade clothes and one-of-a-kind giftable items found on my travels.

All of our garments are made from upcycled fabrics with limited yardage. Meant to be passed down from generation-to-generation, we believe in slowmade clothing that doesn't contribute to landfills.
